Ecomondo and Key Energy 2018: two top events held simultaneously new approaches for the circular economy and renewable energies. On one hand, a big boost in the packaging, textile-fashion, building and automotive chains. On the other, a focus on renewable energies with a great accent on wind, photovoltaic and storage systems.
With the expos organized by Italian Exhibition Group there is also the Circular Smart City project
Circular economy on one hand and the development of energies renewable on he other: the great changes under way in the green economy universe, with an increasingly international business approach, will be featured at the key showcases of Ecomondo and Key Energy which Italian Exhibition Group is organizing at Rimini Expo Centre from 6th to 9th November. At the 22nd edition of Ecomondo the core will be the circular economy, which up until a few years ago was only theoretic and now, thanks to the enactment of regulations and financing able to power it, is a practice under way in the most developed industrial nations. The 12th edition of Key Energy confirms its role as a business catalyser and driving force for all the increasingly strategic sectors of renewable energies and energy efficiency.
Two top events held simultaneously which will occupy 129,000 square metres of exhibit space ready to host over 1,300 companies, with a participation that last year rose to 116,000 attendees and over 90,000 qualified buyers.
As well as the expo proposal, there will also be more than 200 events, meetings and seminars with a focus on the latest most stringent topics, to implement in both the circular economy and renewable energies the new challenges, Italian and European regulations (from the European package on Circular Economy, to the European Strategy on Plastics), avant-garde case histories, good practices, and a special focus on SEN, Strategia Energetica Nazionale (National Energy Strategy), with its various aspects.
All thanks to the support of very high profile scientific committees, chaired by Prof. Fabio Fava (Ecomondo) and engineer Gianni Silvestrini (Key Energy), two top experts in their respective disciplines in Italy and abroad. And in close collaboration with the main associations representing the entire Italian and European industrial universe (list attached). The flagship events will outline the trends in the various industrial sectors, with strategic events on Marine Litter, remediation of industrial sites and upgrading of areas, with a strategic and applicative viewpoint, for an estimated audience of over 20,000 people, identified among the industry members taking part in Ecomondo and Key Energy.
A useful program for anticipating and favouring processes, in close collaboration with the key players of the various sectors: from that of waste recovery and exploitation to that of the bioeconomy, renewable energies and energy efficiency, passing through urban upgrading and smart cities. With a horizon that has become indispensable: Ecodesign. In other words, redesigning production, social and economic systems in with an ecological accent.
ECOMONDO
At Ecomondo, the platform par excellence of the complete waste cycle (a sector that in Europe has an overall turnover of 155 billion euros), the focus will be on Bioeconomy, with industrial excellences, the latest in new material, biorefineries and bio methane.
An innovative expo project will highlight the manufacturing and service enterprises that have made Ecodesign their new ´mantra.´ There will be in-depth coverage of new approaches for putting the circular economy model into effect in the packaging, textile-fashion, building and automotive chains.
The recent European strategy on plastic will be a reference point in once more highlighting an issue that was also discussed at the 2017 edition. Plus Global Water Expo, with the most important enterprises operating at European level in the management and exploitation of water resources. More space will be dedicated to soil remediation and sediments, upgrading of sites and port areas.
Other issues on the agenda: prevention and management of hydrogeological risks, treatment and purification of indoor and outdoor air, monitoring emissions and gaseous effluents.
Following the opening of Ecomondo, the appointment with the States General of the Green Economy, promoted by Consiglio generale della Green Economy (general council of green economy).
KEY ENERGY
Thirteen years after the Protocol of Kyoto came into force, with the agreement of Paris for use as a compass for the policies for the reduction of the CO2 emissions and the objectives set by the European Parliament to reach the carbon flow neutrality by 2050, a highly challenging context the forms the ´backdrop´ for Key Energy, the leading fair for renewable energies in the Mediterranean area.
In Italy, to achieve the 2030 objectives foreseen by the National Energy Strategy, which imply renewable energy providing 57% of overall electricity production, over twice the amount of wind energy will be required and triple that of photovoltaic energy.
The close attention focussed on Solar energy and energy storage will once again be featured at
this year´s edition of Key Energy, following the 2017 launch of the Key Solar e Key Storage sections, with the fundamental support of the key associations (Federazione Anie Rinnovabili, Italia Solare). With Key Efficiency space will once more be dedicated to technology, systems and solution for intelligent use of resources, thanks also to the contribution of the ENEA. On the other hand, the agreement with the ANEV continues to strengthen the proposal of Key Wind, whose key players are major industry member and manufacturers of technology for large, medium and small onshore and off-shore wind energy plants, and all the companies of the wind energy chain.
SUSTAINABLE CITIES: CIRCULAR SMART CITIES
Urban innovation, Mobility innovation and Digital innovation will be the key points around which the Sustainable City process will be constructed, a special project addressing public administrations, technicians and service enterprises involved in the planning and realization of Smart Cities, the cities of the near future and with already solid virtuous experiences, which the fair halls will feature.
Focuses include zero-emission sustainable public transport, with the complete range of green technologies dedicated to urban intermodal mobility, urban upgrading, services, car sharing, bike sharing and fleet management.

Economia circolare da un alto e sviluppo delle energie rinnovabili dall´altro: i grandi cambiamenti in atto nella galassia dell´economia green, con un approccio sempre più internazionale e di business, saranno celebrati sui palcoscenici di riferimento di Ecomondo e Key Energy che Italian Exhibition Group organizza alla Fiera di Rimini dal 6 al 9 novembre prossimi. Alla 22a edizione di Ecomondo il fulcro sarà l´economia circolare, fino a qualche anno fa solo teorizzata e oggi, grazie all´attuazione di normative e finanziamenti utili ad alimentarla, prassi in atto nei Paesi industriali più sviluppati. La 12° edizione di Key Energy si conferma catalizzatore e propulsore di business per tutti i settori, sempre più strategici, delle energie rinnovabili e dell´efficienza energetica.
Due eventi top in contemporanea che si svilupperanno su 129.000 i metri quadri di superficie espositiva pronti ad ospitare oltre 1.300 imprese, con una partecipazione che lo scorso anno salì a 116.000 presenze, oltre 90.000 buyer qualificati.
Alla proposta dell´esposizione si aggiungono più di 200 tra eventi, incontri e seminari con al centro i più stringenti temi d´attualità, per mettere sul doppio binario della circular economy e delle energie rinnovabili le nuove sfide, le normative italiane ed europee (dal pacchetto europeo sulla Circular Economy, alla Strategia Europea sulle Plastiche), le case history all´avanguardia, le buone pratiche, e un focus speciale sulla SEN, Strategia Energetica Nazionale, con le sue declinazioni.
Tutto, grazie al supporto di comitati scientifici d´altissimo profilo, presieduti dal Prof. Fabio Fava (Ecomondo) e dall´Ing. Gianni Silvestrini (Key Energy), tra i massimi esperti nelle rispettive discipline in Italia e all´estero. E in stretta collaborazione con le principali associazioni rappresentative dell´intera galassia industriale nazionale e in Europa (elenco in allegato, ndr). Gli eventi faro disegneranno le tendenze nei vari settori industriali, con eventi strategici su Marin Litter, bonifiche dei siti industriali e rigenerazione dei territori, in un´ottica strategica e applicativa, per una platea stimata in oltre 20.000 persone, individuata tra gli operatori che parteciperanno a Ecomondo e Key Energy.
Un programma utile ad anticipare e favorire i processi, in stretto dialogo con i protagonisti dei vari settori: da quello del recupero e valorizzazione dei rifiuti alla filiera della bioeconomia, delle energie rinnovabili e dell´efficientamento energetico, passando dalla rigenerazione urbana e dalle smart cities. Con un orizzonte divenuto imprescindibile: l´Ecodesign. Ovvero, riprogettazione in chiave eco dei sistemi produttivi, sociali ed economici.
ECOMONDO
Ad Ecomondo, piattaforma per eccellenza del ciclo completo del rifiuto (settore che in Europa genera un fatturato complessivo di 155 miliardi di euro), focus sulla Bioeconomia, con le eccellenze industriali, le novità in fatto di new material, bioraffinerie, bio metano. Un innovativo progetto espositivo esalterà le imprese della manifattura e servizi che hanno fatto dell´Ecodesign il nuovo mantra. Saranno approfonditi i nuovi approcci per attuare il modello di economia circolare nelle filiere packaging, tessile-moda, edilizia, automotive.
La recente strategia europea sulla plastica sarà punto di riferimento nel riproporre un tema dibattuto anche nell´edizione 2017. Inoltre, Global Water Expo con le imprese più interessanti che operano a livello europeo nella gestione e valorizzazione della risorsa idrica. Crescerà lo spazio dedicato alla bonifica di suoli e sedimenti, alla riqualificazione di siti e aree portuali.
Altri temi in agenda: prevenzione e gestione del rischio idrogeologico, trattamento e purificazione dell´aria indoor e outdoor, monitoraggio di emissioni ed effluenti gassosi.
In apertura di Ecomondo, appuntamento con gli Stati Generali della Green Economy, promossi dal Consiglio generale della Green Economy.
KEY ENERGY
A tredici anni dall´entrata in vigore del Protocollo di Kyoto, con l´accordo di Parigi a fare da bussola alle politiche di riduzione delle emissioni di CO2 e gli obiettivi posti dal Parlamento europeo di raggiungere la neutralità dei flussi di carbonio al 2050, è un contesto altamente sfidante a fare da riferimento a Key Energy, fiera delle energie rinnovabili per l´area del Mediterraneo.
In Italia, per raggiungere gli obiettivi al 2030 previsti dalla Strategia Energetica Nazionale, e che implicano un contributo delle rinnovabili pari al 57% della produzione elettrica, occorrerà una produzione più che raddoppiata per l´eolico e triplicata per il fotovoltaico.
La forte attenzione al Solare e accumulo sarà riproposta nell´edizione di quest´anno di Key Energy, dopo il lancio nel 2017 delle sezioni Key Solar e Key Storage, con il fondamentale apporto delle associazioni di riferimento (Federazione Anie, Italia Solare). Con Key Efficiency si tornerà a dare spazio alle tecnologie, ai sistemi e le soluzioni per un uso intelligente delle risorse, grazie anche all´apporto di ENEA. L´accordo con ANEV continua a dare forza invece alla proposta di Key Wind, che vede protagonisti i principali operatori e produttori di tecnologie per impianti eolici di grande, media e piccola taglia, onshore e off-shore, e tutte le aziende della filiera eolica.
LA CITTA´ SOSTENIBILE: CIRCULAR SMART CITY
Urban innovation, Mobility innovation e Digital innovation saranno i punti cardinali intorno ai quali sarà costruito il percorso della Città Sostenibile, progetto speciale rivolto alle pubbliche amministrazioni, ai tecnici e alle imprese dei servizi, coinvolti nella pianificazione e realizzazione delle Smart Cities, le città di un futuro ormai prossimo e con esperienze virtuose già solide e che i padiglioni proporranno.
Tra i focus, quello sul trasporto pubblico ad emissioni zero e sostenibile, con l´offerta completa delle tecnologie green dedicate alla mobilità urbana intermodale, alla rigenerazione urbana, i servizi, car sharing, bike sharing e fleet management.
