Italiani risparmiano per prevenire i rischi. A Italy Insurance Forum, l’evento di IKN Italy che riunisce i più importanti attori del settore assicurativo nazionale e internazionale si è evidenziato che salute (per il 58%) e perdita dell’autosufficienza (per il 50%) sono due delle principali preoccupazioni degli italiani, mentre i rischi catastrofali sono il primo timore per il 4%.
‘Educazione finanziaria e assicurativa’ è stata una delle key-word che è emersa nel dibattito con l’auspicio di uno sforzo congiunto pubblico, privato, media e sistema educativo mirato alle situazioni di fragilità finanziaria, a partire dalla condizione femminile.
La survey realizzata per IKN Italy da BVA DOXA, presentata in anteprima, analizza le principali preoccupazioni dei cittadini italiani nel pensare al proprio futuro.
Dalla ricerca, condotta su un campione di 1000 persone rappresentative della popolazione italiana di età compresa tra i 18 ed i 74 anni, emerge che più di metà degli italiani (58%) indica la salute e la perdita dell’autosufficienza (50%) come due tra le proprie principali preoccupazioni e il 49% ci pensa spesso o molto spesso. Tuttavia, la principale strategia sulla gestione del rischio è quella di utilizzo dei propri risparmi (indicata dal 49%). Allo stesso modo, in caso di eventi catastrofali (principale preoccupazione solo per il 4% degli Italiani) il 25% indica che farà affidamento ai risparmi personali e il 16% addirittura dichiara che farà affidamento ad aiuti statali. È evidente che questa fotografia solleva un tema su quale ruolo la protezione debba avere nell’educazione finanziaria.
“Le Compagnie Assicurative hanno due grandi sfide rispetto al dare risposte agli Italiani: la prima è di offrire soluzioni alle preoccupazioni rispetto all’autosufficienza che superino il ricorso ai risparmi personali o al patrimonio familiare e la seconda è quella di fare crescere la sensibilità alla protezione rispetto agli eventi catastrofali che tragicamente si ripetono nel nostro Paese. Comunicazione di prodotto (si pensi alla Long Term Care), educazione finanziaria, capacità di una realistica autovalutazione della propria situazione sono alcuni dei territori dove i brand devono continuare a insistere” dichiara Simone Pizzoglio, Partner – Head of Finance BVA DOXA.
Davide Passero, CEO di Alleanza Assicurazioni e Country Chief Marketing & Product Officer di Generali Italia dichiara: “ E’ interessante osservare come i macro trend alimentino le nostre preoccupazioni ma allo stesso tempo quanto la popolazione sia più propensa all’”autoassicurazione” che alla stipula di una polizza per potersi proteggere e trasferire i rischi. Tutto questo conferma quello che emerge dal nostro Osservatorio Edufin Index, ovvero la necessità di intraprendere azioni concrete nel campo dell’educazione finanziaria e assicurativa, stante una rilevante parte di italiani al di sotto dei livelli di sufficienza. Occorre quindi uno sforzo congiunto pubblico, privato, media e sistema educativo mirato alle situazioni di fragilità finanziaria, a partire dalla condizione femminile. Senza cognizioni finanziarie e autonomia economica, per le donne non può esservi reale emancipazione. Interpretando la nostra responsabilità sociale d’impresa, come Alleanza siamo impegnati da due anni nello sviluppo di un Piano Nazionale di Educazione Finanziaria e Assicurativa: per il 2024 abbiamo lanciato il Tour dell’Educazione Finanziaria per rafforzare il dibattito e la consapevolezza su questi temi, con il coinvolgimento delle tante nostre Consulenti, a testimonianza che la finanza può essere interpretata con successo al femminile”.
Educazione finanziaria e assicurativa, sostenibilità generazionale, trasformazione digitale, prevenire (per poter gestire meglio) sono le key-words emerse nei tavoli della prima parte della giornata.
Sono oltre 600 i partecipanti e più di 40 le compagnie assicurative rappresentate presenti all’appuntamento, con 20 Case Study da condividere con la platea, alcuni di stampo internazionale come quello di Zurich Santander Insurance America che ha trattato delle strategie internazionali applicabili nell’Industry italiana per avere un impatto concreto sulla sostenibilità al di là dell’offerta dei prodotti green. Tra i temi più attuali, l’importanza della comunicazione e del contatto con il cliente volti ad aumentare la sua conoscenza e la sua fiducia sono fattori particolarmente rilevanti nei mercati emergenti, in cui la sottoscrizione di copertura assicurativa è fortemente condizionata dal ciclo economico, con crescite nei periodi più floridi e forti blocchi nei momenti critici.
La Legge di Bilancio 2024 prevede che le imprese aventi sede legale in Italia o all’estero con una stabile organizzazione nel nostro paese avranno l’obbligo di assicurarsi contro i rischi catastrofali: ne ha parlato Roberto Novelli, Responsabile dell’Ufficio Segreteria di Presidenza e del Consiglio IVASS – Istituto per la Vigilanza sulle Assicurazioni, per chiarezza in merito alle implicazioni per il settore. Il tema catastrofale ha un ruolo collettivo in quanto impatta sia su persone che su imprese: il costo complessivo di un evento è maggiore nei paesi che tardano a ripartire.
La mission principale nel contesto attuale deve essere la protezione degli assicurati, attraverso un sistema sostenibile, e salvaguardare la stabilità delle singole compagnie cercando di lavorare al meglio.
Il tema trainante dell’evento è “AI e partnership per proteggere dalle calamità l’Italia che invecchia”, in particolare dell’uso etico dell’AI volto a efficientare la relazione con il cliente e supportare il reperimento dei dati su variabili non popolate per rispondere all’aumento degli eventi catastrofali e all’incertezza macroeconomica.
La collaborazione tra enti pubblici, privati e tecnologie per assicurare il benessere del paziente e colmare così il protection gap è di estrema attualità. Sono in atto, per esempio, nuovi modelli di collaborazione con le assicurazioni da parte degli ospedali, anche se attualmente si tratta di un rapporto complesso, ancora come cliente/fornitore.
Emerge la necessità di sviluppare un rapporto evolutivo tra ospedale di qualità e assicurazioni sia per supportare il paziente, sia per il cost saving.
La giornata è proseguita con approfondimenti più verticali e in chiusura si sono svolte le premiazioni degli Insurance Award, il punto di riferimento per l’eccellenza del settore assicurativo che riflette la volontà del mercato di promuovere l’innovazione attraverso il digitale e la tecnologia per rispondere alle esigenze del cliente moderno e migliorare le performance d’impresa.

Piano Transizione 5.0 storica opportunità per le imprese. Le azioni di efficienza per la competitività industriale entrano nel vivo con lo sviluppo agevolato degli investimenti contro gli sprechi energetici e della filiera produttiva. Infatti, con la pubblicazione in Gazzetta Ufficiale del DL 19/2024 nell’Art. 38, anche lo Stato italiano diventa parte attiva per promuovere le scelte imprenditoriali dedicate alla riqualificazione dei processi produttivi per una nuova forma di sviluppo più sostenibile finanziariamente, socialmente ed ambientalmente.
Il Credito d’Imposta
Un “new deal” da 13 miliardi promessi come agevolazioni governative da mettere in campo entro la fine del 2025, metà per i Piano Transizione 5.0 e metà per la conclusione del Piano Industria 4.0.
Il beneficio verrà concesso dal MIMIT Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy e dall’Agenzia delle Entrate.
Dovrà essere conforme alle disposizioni emanate e controllate dal GSE Gestore dei Servizi Energetici.
E’ richiesta una comunicazione antecedente ai lavori programmati, in modo che sarà successivamente dichiarabile da professionisti certificati EGE Esperti in Gestione Energetica se gli investimenti avranno generato una riduzione dei consumi energetici complessivi di almeno il 3% o, in alternativa, nei reparti coinvolti dall’investimento di almeno il 5%.
Si potrà beneficiare di un credito d’imposta del 35% per investimenti fino a 2,5 milioni di euro, del 15% fra 2,5 milioni e 10 milioni di euro, 5% per oltre 10 milioni di euro fino al massimo consentito di 50 milioni di euro.
E’ prevista l’erogazione del bonus anche per gli investimenti in impianti fotovoltaici, purchè i pannelli siano stati prodotti all’interno della Comunità Europea ed abbiano una efficienza di modulo non inferiore al 21,5%.
L’accesso al credito d’imposta dovrà essere usufruito da parte dell’impresa entro il 31 dicembre 2025. La parte eventualmente residua potrà essere suddivisa in parti uguali nei 5 anni successivi.

Banca Etica con GABV per stop fonti fossili. Banca Etica insieme ad altre 16 banche leader della Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) hanno aderito all’iniziativa per un Trattato di non proliferazione dei combustibili fossili per chiedere ai Governi di tutto il mondo di compiere un significativo passo avanti nello sforzo globale per affrontare la causa principale della crisi climatica: la produzione e l’uso di petrolio, gas e carbone.
L’iniziativa è guidata da un comitato composto da organizzazioni della società civile, movimenti indigeni, associazioni di giovani attivisti, esperti e accademici che chiedono ai Governi di negoziare un Trattato di non proliferazione dei combustibili fossili (Fossil Fuels Non-Proliferation Treaty – FFNPT). Hanno già aderito 1.800 organizzazioni; 75 grandi città (tra cui Roma e Torino); 101 Premi Nobel; 570 membri di parlamenti; 3000 accademici. Alle imprese che aderiscono è richiesto di rendicontare e rafforzare il proprio impegno verso l’abbandono delle fonti fossili e la riduzione delle emissioni.
La GABV è la rete delle banche più responsabili a livello sociale e ambientale del mondo: le istituzioni aderenti sono state tra le prime banche ad aderire al trattato.

Una campagna globale per eliminare gradualmente i combustibili fossili
L’Iniziativa per un Trattato di non proliferazione dei combustibili fossili è uno sforzo globale per promuovere la cooperazione internazionale per accelerare la transizione verso le energie rinnovabili per tutti; porre fine all’espansione di carbone, petrolio e gas e infine, eliminare gradualmente e in modo equo la produzione esistente. Il Trattato riflette ciò che la scienza dimostra essere necessario per affrontare la crisi climatica.
La proposta sta conquistando sempre più adesioni a livello globale
Il sostegno arrivato da diversi attori riflette l’urgente necessità di agire per fermare la proliferazione e iniziare a eliminare gradualmente l’uso di carbone, petrolio e gas – i principali motori della rapida accelerazione dell’emergenza climatica e della crescente disuguaglianza. Le banche aderenti alla GABV si uniscono ad altri soggetti interessati come l’Organizzazione mondiale della sanità, il Parlamento europeo e un gruppo crescente di 12 Stati che già chiedono un nuovo trattato internazionale per la transizione dal petrolio, dal gas e dal carbone.
Sebbene gli Accordi di Parigi abbiano fissato un obiettivo climatico globale cruciale, molti governi continuano ad approvare nuovi progetti nel settore del carbone, del petrolio e del gas. Il Production Gap Report 2023 dell’UNEP ha avvertito che i piani di estrazione di combustibili fossili minano le possibilità del mondo di raggiungere i nostri obiettivi climatici globali. Il rapporto rivela che, nonostante gli impegni sul clima, i governi prevedono ancora di produrre circa il 110% in più di combustibili fossili entro il 2030 rispetto a quanto sarebbe compatibile con la limitazione del riscaldamento globale a +1,5°C.
Il ruolo del settore bancario
Secondo il rapporto Banking on Climate Chaos pubblicato nel 2023, da quando è stato firmato l’accordo di Parigi, le banche mondiali hanno pompato 5,5 trilioni di dollari nei combustibili fossili. Un recente rapporto di Topo Finance ha rilevato che se le banche e i gestori patrimoniali più grandi degli Stati Uniti fossero un paese, sarebbero il terzo paese emittente al mondo, dietro Cina e Stati Uniti.
Alla Conferenza delle Nazioni Unite sui cambiamenti climatici COP26 tenutasi a Glasgow nel 2021, le principali banche occidentali si sono impegnate a ridurre la propria impronta di carbonio e a investire in iniziative verdi, con l’obiettivo di raggiungere emissioni nette pari a zero entro il 2050. Nonostante gli impegni, il rapporto tra i finanziamenti bancari per l’energia a basse emissioni di carbonio e quelli ai combustibili fossili non raggiunge gli obiettivi prefissati, come rivela una ricerca di Bloomberg NEF. Inoltre, le banche che hanno dichiarato impegni per azzerare le emissioni hanno continuato a concedere ingenti prestiti alle compagnie petrolifere, del gas e del carbone che stanno espandendo le loro attività legate ai combustibili fossili.
Nazzareno Gabrielli, direttore generale di Banca Etica ha dichiarato: “La finanza etica ha tra i suoi principali obiettivi quello di finanziare uno sviluppo che salvaguardi il Pianeta e contrasti i cambiamenti climatici. Per questo le banche etiche da sempre rifiutano di finanziare le fonti fossili e sostengono invece la produzione di energia da fonti rinnovabili, insieme a progetti di mitigazione dei cambiamenti climatici. Banca Etica – insieme ad altre istituzioni della Global Alliance for Banking on Values – ha deciso con convinzione di aderire all’impegno verso un Trattato di non proliferazione delle fonti fossili per migliorare ancora il proprio sforzo verso la salvaguardia del clima e per contribuire a innalzare l’attenzione delle istituzioni politiche internazionali e nazionali e dell’opinione pubblica rispetto all’emergenza climatica che richiede azioni globali molto più incisive di quelle messe in campo fin qui”.
David Reiling, presidente del GABV e amministratore delegato di Sunrise Banks, spiega che il settore finanziario globale deve svolgere un ruolo fondamentale riunendo la comunità imprenditoriale e spingendo verso la transizione dalla produzione di combustibili fossili. “Il Trattato sui combustibili fossili è un accordo vincolante, che segnala che le imprese sono pronte e disposte ad assumersi questo impegno. Firmando questo Trattato, stiamo livellando il campo di gioco e guidando una transizione globale ed equa per soddisfare il nostro Impegno Net Zero entro il 2050. Mi aspetto che un numero maggiore di banche e imprese firmi il Trattato e si unisca alla crescente iniziativa per passare a un futuro più pulito e sostenibile”.
Ali Sheridan, direttore delle partnership dell’iniziativa del Trattato di non proliferazione dei combustibili fossili, ha sottolineato l’importanza che i settori finanziario e imprenditoriale si uniscano all’appello: “Il sostegno di queste banche è una testimonianza del crescente riconoscimento all’interno del settore finanziario, e in particolare tra le banche più progressiste, del ruolo fondamentale che svolge nell’affrontare la crisi climatica. Allineando le pratiche finanziarie agli obiettivi di sostenibilità e sostenendo iniziative come il Trattato sui combustibili fossili, le banche possono svolgere un ruolo di primo piano e promuovere cambiamenti significativi, oltre a contribuire in modo significativo a promuovere la cooperazione globale tra più stakeholder necessaria per una giusta transizione dai combustibili fossili e per garantire un futuro più pulito, più verde e più giusto per tutti”.
Oltre 3.000 scienziati e accademici, 101 premi Nobel, centinaia di professionisti sanitari, migliaia di istituzioni religiose, un numero crescente di organizzazioni indigene e attivisti giovanili, oltre 100 città e governi subnazionali, più di 600 parlamentari in tutto il mondo e un numero crescente di imprese stanno già chiedendo un Trattato per eliminare gradualmente i combustibili fossili e accelerare una transizione energetica equa.

L’iniziativa per un Trattato di Non Proliferazione delle Fonti Fossili è uno sforzo globale per raggiungere gli obiettivi dell’Accordo di Parigi promuovendo la cooperazione internazionale per accelerare la transizione verso l’energia pulita per tutti, porre fine all’espansione dei combustibili fossili ed eliminare gradualmente la produzione esistente. Ciò deve essere fatto in modo rapido, equo e finanziato, in modo che nessun lavoratore, comunità o paese venga lasciato indietro, e in linea con ciò che la scienza dimostra sia necessario per affrontare la crisi climatica.
Slow Food Italia premia le Donne che salvano la terra. Dieci donne, altrettante storie: dalla cucina alla scuola, dall’apicoltura alla panificazione, si può aver cura del nostro pianeta in molti modi.
Sono dieci e si prendono cura del pianeta
Lo fanno in modi diversi, ma tutti legati a doppio filo con il cibo e con ciò che questo porta con sé: sono le Donne che salvano la terra, dal nome dell’iniziativa con cui Slow Food Italia ha voluto dare valore e voce a chi, spesso nell’ombra, lavora per custodire la terra, produrre cibo buono, pulito e giusto e – in un certo senso – cambiare il futuro. Da un lato, perché lavorano consapevoli che ciò che saremo domani (e le risorse che avremo a disposizione in futuro) dipendono da quello che facciamo oggi. Dall’altro, perché possono essere fonte di ispirazione per le ragazze e i ragazzi che stanno compiendo il loro percorso di formazione scolastico e personale. Proprio per questo motivo, la cerimonia di premiazione si è svolta questa mattina – in occasione della Giornata della Terra – al Liceo Classico e Linguistico “Gioberti” di Torino, istituto che ha dato vita alla prima comunità Slow Food di studenti e insegnanti.
Le protagoniste sono dieci donne piemontesi, provenienti da tutte le province: dieci storie che Slow Food Italia riesce a raccontare grazie al lavoro della sua rete, che le ha scovate e segnalate, e al patrocinio e al contributo della Regione Piemonte.
«Il mondo del cibo racchiude in sé uno dei preconcetti che maggiormente hanno contribuito a identificare la donna con la casa e con le mansioni domestiche: non una scelta, ma come obbligo indiscutibile» sostiene Barbara Nappini, presidente di Slow Food Italia. «Lo stesso è valso per la cura dell’orto e del giardino, della cucina e della dispensa. Ma il cibo – coltivato, trasformato, venduto, narrato – può essere anche strumento di emancipazione. Autodeterminarsi può significare allontanarsi o reinterpretare i ruoli che la storia e la cultura hanno cucito addosso alle donne, esercitando il diritto imprescindibile di esprimere attitudini, competenze, capacità, desideri, ambizioni».
Le donne che salvano la terra attraverso il cibo, prosegue Nappini, «sono figure eroiche e concrete che scelgono strade poco battute, nelle quali intravedono la possibilità di scrivere una narrazione diversa, di rigenerazione. È così che il cibo si fa palcoscenico di dieci-cento-mille storie di emancipazione femminile. Occuparsi di cibo diventa un progetto culturale, la scelta consapevole di assumere il ruolo attivo di artefici di senso piuttosto che quello passivo di consumatrici». Il loro è un «modello di relazione con l’altro e col vivente tutto diverso da quello vigente, basato su antagonismo e prevaricazione, perché imperniato sull’ascolto e sull’empatia, sulla comprensione e sull’accoglienza. Integrare le attività umane con l’ambiente che ci ospita è la naturale alternativa per chi non ha privilegi da preservare e abbraccia la sperimentazione, mettendo a valore resilienza, sensibilità e potenza. Sono storie concrete e poetiche – conclude Nappini – capaci di ispirare e disegnare un futuro migliore per se stesse e per le generazioni a venire».
Le dieci donne premiate sono state selezionate da un’apposita commissione tra le oltre trecento segnalazioni arrivate nei mesi scorsi dalla rete di Slow Food in Piemonte, composta non soltanto da soci e simpatizzanti, ma anche da gastronomi, attivisti ambientali e operatori della società civile, giornalisti e blogger. Le loro storie rappresentano qualcosa in più delle semplici vicende personali e professionali delle protagoniste: sono una testimonianza e la dimostrazione che esiste un modo diverso di stare al mondo, alimentato dalla cura, nutrito e ispirato dal cibo buono, pulito e giusto, vissuto attraverso la gioia di condividere e di costruire un futuro migliore per tutti.
Per raccontarle, Slow Food Italia ha realizzato una serie di materiali pubblicati sui propri canali: un libretto pensato come strumento di orientamento al lavoro per le scuole di secondo grado della regione e interviste da leggere sul sito slowfood.it; dieci video pubblicati su YouTube; un book fotografico per ciascuna e una collana di podcast con la quale l’associazione della chiocciola inaugura il suo canale. Anche le musiche originali dei podcast sono realizzate da un gruppo di donne piemontesi: fanno parte dell’Orchestra di Terra Madre e, attraverso un linguaggio diverso e gli strumenti classici e della tradizione, trasformano in musica il lavoro delle donne che salvano la terra.

Ridurre emissioni CO2 in supply chain: Manhattan Associates propone una guida in 6 step. Secondo uno studio di Accenture del 2023, le supply chain sono responsabili della generazione di circa il 60% di tutte le emissioni di CO2 a livello globale. Se si vuole raggiungere l’obiettivo “net zero” e mantenere le temperature globali entro i limiti stabiliti dall’Accordo di Parigi, la decarbonizzazione delle supply chain è indispensabile per affrontare il cambiamento climatico.
Spesso, però, le organizzazioni mettono in atto il cosiddetto “greenlighting”, una tattica di comunicazione che mette in risalto un programma o un prodotto relativamente piccolo per distogliere l’attenzione da attività o prodotti aziendali meno virtuosi dal punto di vista ambientale. È necessaria, quindi, una visione più ampia e completa dell’intera supply chain se le organizzazioni vogliono evitare il greenwashing e ottenere risultati significativi, sostenibili e a lungo termine.
Ecco, secondo Manhattan Associates, 6 pratici accorgimenti che le organizzazioni possono adottare per ridurre l’impatto della loro supply chain sull’ambiente:
1. Network design
I migliori guadagni in termini di sostenibilità possono essere ottenuti grazie a una riprogettazione dell’intera rete della supply chain, e non di una sezione specifica alla volta. Ad esempio, le decisioni sull’ubicazione dei magazzini non dovrebbero essere guidate solo dalla possibilità di accesso per i clienti, ma anche per i fornitori.
Sebbene la riprogettazione della rete richieda il coinvolgimento di tutta l’azienda, dal procurement ai team di operatori del punto vendita, fino alla gestione delle consegne, se realizzata in modo efficace e strategico, può costituire la base per significativi guadagni ambientali lungo l’intera supply chain.
2. Un modello tattico evolvente
Poche aziende possono permettersi di delocalizzare o riprogettare regolarmente le proprie reti. Questo non dovrebbe impedire loro di effettuare valutazioni regolari utilizzando tecniche di ottimizzazione, simulazioni e analisi di scenario per migliorare la sostenibilità e ridurre i costi, man mano che le reti della supply chain (e le tecnologie a loro disposizione) continuano a evolversi.
I motori di ottimizzazione forniscono soluzioni immediate a determinati problemi in base a vincoli e termini oggettivi, mentre i meccanismi di simulazione possono valutare i costi e l’impatto commerciale dei cambiamenti delle policy, spingendo la domanda attraverso la rete in un determinato modo. Infine, l’analisi di scenario consente di valutare più combinazioni di policy in parallelo, utilizzando grafici e visualizzazioni.
La misurazione, il benchmarking e, soprattutto, la flessibilità del business sono elementi chiave per mantenere un approccio sostenibile per la supply chain di qualsiasi organizzazione.
3. Procurement strategico
L’acquisto dei sistemi di trasporto è molto spesso rigido e basato sulle sue diverse tipologie. La svolta potrebbero essere i servizi intermodali: ad esempio, il trasporto su lunghe distanze stradali potrebbe essere meglio gestito, in base ai vincoli di tempo, optando per un’opzione intermodale come strada-ferrovia-strada, oppure, se il tempo non è una priorità per alcuni articoli, scegliere una diversa combinazione di opzioni potrebbe rivelarsi più conveniente dal punto di vista ambientale – qualora, ovviamente, siano a disposizione.
4. Planning
L’efficacia della pianificazione ottimizzata per raggiungere gli obiettivi di sostenibilità dipende dall’effettivo punto di partenza. Ad esempio, la massimizzazione dell’utilizzo del rimorchio è una misura chiave per sostenere il divenire green di un’organizzazione, ma un utilizzo quasi totale della potenzialità significa che è stata raggiunta la soluzione più sostenibile?
Per una singola consegna a pieno carico, la capacità del rimorchio sarà utilizzata nel viaggio di ritorno e l’organizzazione sta considerando i ritorni, i backhaul (dai fornitori) per ridurre i chilometri “a vuoto”? Oppure, in termini di consegne multidrop, la sequenza è ottimale o i camion percorrono troppi chilometri “a vuoto”, non a pieno carico?
I vantaggi del planning e l’utilizzo dell’infrastruttura sono direttamente collegati alla progettazione della rete e alle decisioni tattiche che consentono di ottenere il mix ottimale tra tipi di attrezzature, percorsi statici, dinamici e ibridi, orari di consegna dei punti vendita e frequenza degli ordini, ecc. Un’organizzazione può davvero raggiungere una valutazione oggettiva e data-based del percorso più sostenibile attraverso l’intera rete, fino alla destinazione finale, qualunque essa sia.
5. Selezione del vettore
La scelta di un vettore sostenibile è simile alla sostituzione dei veicoli alimentati a combustibili fossili con veicoli più efficienti o alternative più ecologiche. La sostenibilità può essere integrata come fattore di performance, come la puntualità delle consegne, in modo da fornire un confronto equo tra i vettori. Attualmente le misurazioni si basano su stime o calcoli complessi, ma le misure basate sulle prestazioni stanno già iniziando a svolgere un ruolo sempre più importante nella selezione dei vettori come criterio per scegliere “l’opzione più sostenibile”.
6. Esecuzione
Un’esecuzione sostenibile significa essere in grado di rispondere ai cambiamenti durante e persino dopo la spedizione. Tempi di consegna realistici basati sulle informazioni effettive sul traffico limiteranno chilometri non necessari (evitando la necessità di un secondo tentativo di consegna). Mentre offerte come il self-service digitale mirano a ridurre i resi nell’e-commerce, in quanto i consumatori hanno maggiore autonomia e possibilità di modificare e aggiustare gli ordini fino al momento in cui la consegna lascia il punto di fulfilment, indipendentemente dal fatto che si tratti di un magazzino, di un dark-store o di un negozio fisico.
Un core digitale alimentato da una piattaforma IT cloud-native, che utilizza una serie di dati prontamente disponibili e capacità di intelligenza artificiale, come quella di Manhattan Associates, è la chiave per costruire una supply chain resiliente e consentire alle aziende di integrare la sostenibilità all’interno delle loro supply chain.
Quindi, ciò significa che le tecnologie che lavorano in parallelo e in modo flessibile saranno in grado di fornire una pianificazione più accurata, una previsione degli scenari, una sperimentazione dei prodotti, una simulazione dei processi produttivi, un’ottimizzazione dei trasporti e una maggiore trasparenza nei confronti dei clienti. Tutti fattori centrali per le organizzazioni che intendono impegnarsi a lungo termine per ridurre l’impatto ambientale e le emissioni di anidride carbonica delle loro supply chain.
Comunicazione e pericolo greenwashing: il panorama aziendale e lo scenario normativo italiano ed europeo. La sostenibilità emerge come una delle questioni più complesse e urgenti dell’intera politica globale.
Dall’Agenda 2030 ai 17 Obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile, le organizzazioni internazionali stanno chiamando gli Stati, i governi e i cittadini a contribuire alla causa ambientale e sociale. Sono i consumatori stessi a inserire la sostenibilità tra le prime priorità. Un’indagine condotta nel 2022 dall’Institute for Business Value su un campione di 16.349 consumatori in 10 paesi ha rilevato come per loro l’importanza della sostenibilità ambientale sia cresciuta significativamente solo a distanza di un anno e il 49% degli intervistati ha riconosciuto di aver pagato un sovrapprezzo per prodotti sostenibili. In questo contesto, le aziende svolgono un ruolo cruciale nella transizione versa una società più sostenibile.
L’IBM, Institute for Business Value, rileva come la maggior parte delle aziende riconosca la sostenibilità come vettore strategico in grado di apportare migliori risultati in termini economici. Secondo lo studio annuale Seize the Change di EY le aziende italiane, sia le piccole sia le medie imprese, sono impegnate concretamente nell’integrazione della sostenibilità all’interno del proprio modello di business. Tuttavia, la velocità variabile sui singoli temi e la disomogeneità tra i settori dimostrano come questo processo non sia estendibile uniformemente a tutti. Dai dati del rapporto, calibrato su una survey di 350 imprese, emerge come l’80% delle aziende quotate abbia sviluppato un piano di sostenibilità (+32% rispetto al 2020) e il 30% abbia definito target quantitativi. Inoltre, il 47% delle aziende intervistate ha definito degli obiettivi e azioni di cambiamento climatico incrementando l’uso di energie rinnovabili. Quasi otto aziende su dieci ha definito un processo di identificazione e gestione delle priorità-rischi legati ai cambiamenti climatici. Il trend positivo delle aziende italiane in materia di sostenibilità viene ribadito anche dall’analisi delle performance economico-finanziarie. Esiste, infatti, una potenziale relazione tra gli investimenti reali sulla sostenibilità nel breve periodo e l’eventuale crescita nel lungo. Da notare come, nonostante i buoni propositi, diversi dirigenti riscontrino difficoltà nel finanziare gli investimenti a causa della spirale inflazionistica. Una politica che voglia essere efficace rispetto alla sostenibilità non può quindi prescindere da un riassetto del sistema degli investimenti.
A livello europeo l’Unione ha formulato ambiziose politiche e obiettivi per promuovere la sostenibilità aziendale attraverso il Green Deal e altre iniziative. Difatti, l’adozione di indicatori ESG (Ambientali, Sociali e di Governance) è ormai prassi ordinaria nelle valutazioni delle aziende, evidenziando l’importanza attribuita ai criteri non finanziari. Nel dettaglio, il riferimento è alla Direttiva UE 2022/2464 relativa alla rendicontazione societaria di sostenibilità. Questa direttiva, pur apportando modifiche sostanziali alle direttive 2004/109/CE, 2006/43/CE e 2013/34/UE, avrà un impatto significativo sulle pratiche aziendali in Europa. Nei prossimi anni le imprese europee (o quelle non appartenenti all’UE che generano ricavi superiori a 150 milioni di euro e hanno una presenza tramite succursale nell’UE) saranno tenute a divulgare informazioni dettagliate riguardanti gli effetti del loro modello aziendale sulla sostenibilità, sia a livello esterno (ad esempio, impatti sul clima e diritti umani) sia interno.
In che modo le aziende costruiscono una strategia di marketing improntata alla sostenibilità?
Da un lato c’è il cosiddetto green marketing. Il marketing ecologico si riferisce a una strategia volta a sensibilizzare i consumatori rispetto a prodotti disegnati e realizzati con l’obiettivo di ridurre l’impatto ambientale. Questa strategia, che consolida la reputazione e l’immagine del brand, è ben diversa dal greenwashing. Difatti, il cosiddetto “ambientalismo di facciata” consiste nel proclamare un grande sforzo eco-friendly senza tuttavia avviare un effettivo e concreto cambiamento nel senso della sostenibilità. Il greenwashing presenta quindi un duplice effetto: da un lato allargare il proprio segmento di consumatori per attirare quelli più sensibili alla sostenibilità; dall’altro deviare l’attenzione dell’opinione pubblica da eventuali difetti del prodotto o dai danni ambientali derivanti dalle attività produttive aziendali.
Un rapporto redatto dalla Commissione Europea nel 2021 quantifica la diffusione del fenomeno: il 42% dei siti web aziendali che affermano di promuovere prodotti ecologici presenta green claim ingannevoli o pratiche commerciali scorrette. Per evitare queste distorsioni il Parlamento Europeo sta esaminando una proposta di Direttiva della Commissione volta a modificare le direttive 2005/29/CE e 2011/83/UE. La modifica, che disciplina unicamente i claim espliciti, mira a potenziare la responsabilità dei consumatori per la transizione verde, migliorando la tutela contro le pratiche sleali e fornendo informazioni affidabili, complete e confrontabili sulle pratiche commerciali scorrette. Inoltre, essa si concentra esclusivamente sulle questioni legate alla sostenibilità ambientale, escludendo aspetti legati alla sostenibilità economica e sociale. Diversi i Paesi impegnati dal punto di vista normativo nella regolazione del fenomeno del greenwashing. L’Italia, dove è significativo l’intervento dell’autorità di vigilanza del mercato e dei tribunali; la Francia con la legge sul clima e la resilienza; la Germania, dove il greenwashing viene disciplinato nella legge contro la concorrenza sleale e nel Codice civile tedesco; infine, il Regno Unito con il Green Claims Code emanato nel 2021 dalla Competition Markets Authority.
In conclusione, la sostenibilità ha cambiato strutturalmente il core business delle aziende. L’adozione di politiche sostenibili rappresenta un driver per aumentare la propria competitività nei mercati di riferimento, creando valore di medio e lungo termine per tutti gli stakeholder, e anche una necessità per rispondere alle sfide sistemiche che la società ha di fronte. La normativa, europea e non, fornisce uno strumento importante per tutelare il consumatore rispetto a prodotti falsamente ecologici e per proteggere le stesse imprese da pratiche concorrenziali sleali.

PFAS anche in torrenti e falde toscane. Una nuova indagine di Greenpeace Italia, basata su campionamenti indipendenti effettuati nel gennaio scorso, rivela che la contaminazione da PFAS (composti poli e perfluoroalchilici pericolosi per la salute umana) è largamente diffusa anche in Toscana e interessa numerosi corsi d’acqua inquinati dagli scarichi di diversi distretti industriali.
Se gli impatti dell’industria conciaria, tessile, florovivaistica e del cuoio erano già stati evidenziati dallo studio del 2013 del CNR-IRSA e dai rilievi annuali di ARPAT, le analisi condotte da Greenpeace Italia provano che anche il distretto cartario lucchese contribuisce all’inquinamento da PFAS. Una scoperta che non dovrebbe sorprendere, visto che l’impiego di queste molecole nell’industria della carta è ben noto, ma la questione non era mai stata approfondita dagli enti preposti toscani.
«Il quadro di contaminazione che emerge dalle nostre analisi è tutt’altro che rassicurante. Alcuni casi sono ben documentati da almeno dieci anni, ma la Regione Toscana non ha mai affrontato seriamente il problema: manca infatti un provvedimento sugli scarichi industriali», dichiara Giuseppe Ungherese, responsabile della campagna Inquinamento di Greenpeace Italia. «La Regione deve individuare tutte le fonti inquinanti di PFAS e attivare le ASL per avviare al più presto indagini sulle acque potabili, soprattutto nelle aree in cui si registrano elevati livelli di contaminazione».
Nella quasi totalità dei casi i campionamenti sono stati effettuati nei fiumi, a monte e a valle degli impianti di depurazione industriale: il consorzio Torrente Pescia e Aquapur (distretto carta), i depuratori del distretto conciario (depuratore Aquarno) e del cuoio (depuratore Cuoio-Depur, che scarica nel Rio Malucco), i fiumi Ombrone, Bisenzio e Fosso Calicino (distretto tessile) e il torrente Brana (distretto florovivaistico). Le concentrazioni più elevate sono state rilevate nel Rio Malucco, nel Fosso Calicino, nel fiume Ombrone e nel Rio Frizzone a Porcari a valle del depuratore Aquapur. Nel fiume Ombrone la concentrazione a valle del distretto tessile è risultata circa 20 volte superiore rispetto a monte, mentre nel Rio Frizzone a valle del depuratore la presenza di PFAS era di circa 9 volte rispetto a monte.
Oltre a rilevare alcune delle singole molecole di PFAS più utilizzate, le analisi di laboratorio hanno permesso di effettuare anche una stima della presenza di tutti i PAFS – un gruppo di oltre diecimila molecole differenti – rilevando il totale del fluoro organico adsorbibile (AOF). L’applicazione di questa tecnica analitica ha evidenziato le contaminazioni più preoccupanti a valle di uno dei depuratori del distretto tessile a Prato, quello di Calice (4.800 nanogrammi/litro), seguito dal canale Usciana a valle del depuratore Aquarno (4.500 nanogrammi/litro) e nel Rio Frizzone a valle del depuratore Aquapur (3.900 nanogrammi/litro) a Porcari.
«Dopo il Veneto, la Lombardia e il Piemonte, anche in Toscana sono emerse numerose criticità che confermano come l’inquinamento da PFAS sia un’emergenza nazionale fuori controllo. Per quanto tempo ancora il nostro governo continuerà a ignorare il problema condannando interi territori a subire gli effetti dell’inquinamento? Serve subito una legge nazionale che vieti l’uso e la produzione di queste pericolose molecole, non c’è più tempo da perdere», conclude Ungherese.

Sulla tavola di oggi i problemi dei contadini. Slow Food Italia: archiviate le proteste, le ultime decisioni dell’Ue hanno portato indietro l’agricoltura di 25 anni senza risolvere i problemi veri del comparto.
«Le proteste dei trattori hanno perso la foga iniziale. Riaffiorano qua e là, dando l’idea di essere generate ad hoc, ma i problemi veri, quelli che hanno radici profonde, restano. La risposta non è nelle soluzioni proposte dalla politica italiana e dall’Europa, entrambe funzionali alle prossime elezioni più che al futuro dell’agricoltura – afferma Serena Milano, direttrice di Slow Food Italia -. Il tema è complesso, ma un dato è certo: l’abolizione delle limitazioni sull’uso dei pesticidi e dell’obbligo di lasciare una piccola parte dei terreni a riposo non sono la strada giusta. Serve una strategia complessiva, che prenda in considerazione tutti gli aspetti relativi alla produzione di cibo: la situazione economica e sociale della maggioranza dei contadini (di piccole e medie dimensioni), la fertilità del suolo, la salubrità dell’acqua e dell’aria, la salute dei consumatori e la crisi climatica. Il nemico non è il Green Deal, ma una politica miope che finanzia gli agricoltori sulla base della quantità di ettari coltivati, sostenendo un modello intensivo che compromette il suolo e non sopravvive senza sovvenzioni pubbliche».
Un’altra agricoltura è possibile, e lo testimoniano moltissimi contadini che in ogni parte della nostra penisola, soprattutto nelle aree interne, producono cibi che rappresentano il loro territorio nel rispetto della terra, dell’ecosistema e della nostra salute.
Contadini che magari non possono scendere in piazza per protestare, perché i campi e gli animali hanno bisogno di cure quotidiane e nelle aziende di piccole dimensioni e a conduzione familiare difficilmente si possono affidare ad altri, ma che non per questo non manifestano il loro pensiero.
Slow Food Italia vuole dare voce a loro.
Perché chi fa il biologico deve pagare le certificazioni e chi usa la chimica no?
«All’Europa chiederei la messa al bando dei pesticidi – dice Giuseppe Salieri, contadino nell’appennino Tosco Romagnolo, a San Godenzo (Fi) -, perché certe decisioni bisogna prenderle e siamo già in ritardo. Si potrà dire di aver vinto una piccola battaglia in agricoltura quando il cibo biologico avrà lo stesso prezzo del cibo non biologico. Il biologico deve essere per tutti, perché tutti abbiamo diritto a un cibo buono e sano. I pesticidi e i concimi di sintesi non hanno più senso di esistere, lo sappiamo tutti che impoveriscono il terreno e fanno male: non c’è bisogno di regolamentarli, non dobbiamo più usarli. L’agricoltura va avanti lo stesso: è andata avanti per millenni. Ora abbiamo anche tecnologia e scienza che ci possono aiutare. Perché chi fa il biologico deve dimostrarlo pagando enti certificatori, mentre chi usa la chimica non ha vincoli? Noi usiamo il nostro letame, facciamo le rotazioni, ci autoproduciamo il più possibile i semi: noi cerchiamo la qualità e la purezza e non la quantità».
Il prezzo minimo deve essere garantito, in base ai costi di produzione
«La protesta è nata in maniera spontanea, sull’onda di quello che è accaduto nel nord Europa – spiega Joseph Silvestri, allevatore di prima generazione della Fattoria La Marchigiana di Agugliano (An) -, ma le motivazioni sono diverse e complesse. Serve un dialogo con il governo e con tutte le associazioni di categoria». Nella sua azienda a conduzione familiare, Joseph si prende cura di nove razze, tra cui la Marchigiana, promuove un’agricoltura rispettosa del suolo e della sua fertilità, e produce cereali e foraggi per l’alimentazione dei propri animali. «I punti cardine su cui chiediamo di intervenire – spiega Joseph – sono chiari: un prezzo minimo garantito di annata in annata in base ai costi di produzione e azioni concrete che tutelino le nostre produzioni rispetto all’import estero, che non viene sottoposto alle medesime regole nazionali».
Vogliamo prati, siepi, biodiversità per le nostre api
Floriano Turco, apicoltore che ad Elva (Cn), nella Valle Maira, porta avanti l’azienda certificata biologica più alta d’Italia, sfidando le avversità che comporta l’ambiente montano per realizzare mieli che restituiscono le essenze delle praterie alpine.
«Il nostro è un mestiere sempre più difficile. Oltre agli adempimenti burocratici a cui siamo soggetti, che aumentano per chi come me fa biologico, e all’incognita del meteo, ci sono due grandi minacce, entrambe risolvibili con applicazione e lungimiranza politica. La prima riguarda il miele estero (extra Unione in particolare) che sta invadendo il nostro Paese, proveniente da nazioni che spesso non brillano per trasparenza e sicurezza alimentare e hanno regole di produzione diverse dalle nostre. Ma il malessere più grande è la scomparsa della biodiversità. Tra monocultura, cementificazione e pesticidi, la vita delle api è messa a forte rischio. Questo non vuol dire solo non avere più miele: tre colture alimentari su quattro dipendono per resa e qualità dall’impollinazione. Quindi basta pesticidi e più aree adibite a prato e siepi».
Un prodotto, oltre a essere buono, può far vivere bene una comunità
Il grano è stato uno dei temi più caldi al centro delle proteste, e nelle ultime settimane i prezzi, soprattutto di quello duro, sono scesi di nuovo vertiginosamente a causa del crollo delle quotazioni dei cereali. «Il nostro problema è la misurazione del valore – dichiara Michele Sica della Cooperativa Sociale Terra di Resilienza-Monte Frumentario. Bisogna misurare la ricaduta sulla società di un determinato prodotto. Un pane, oltre a essere buono, può far vivere meglio una comunità: chi lo produce e chi lo consuma. E questa esternalità positiva è quantificabile, così come sono misurabili i costi ambientali e salutistici di modelli produttivi oggi non più sostenibili. Le food policies europee devono sostenere o penalizzare chi produce in base al modello impiegato».
L’olivicoltura intensiva non può essere il futuro
Secondo Giuseppe Pandolfi, olivicoltore a Vinci (Fi), sono scese in strada poche persone con grandi trattori: «L’agricoltura italiana è fatta di piccole aziende mentre quelle industriali e di grandi dimensioni sono, per ora, nettamente minoritarie, anche se continuano a essere le più ascoltate dalla politica, prigioniera di un modello culturale che collega l’innovazione alla meccanizzazione e alla chimica. Nel settore olivicolo i bandi finanziano impianti di irrigazione invece di sostenere un’agricoltura che usa meno acqua e mantiene vivo il terreno. Gli uliveti intensivi necessitano del triplo di acqua rispetto alle colture tradizionali ad albero, dove la chioma copre il terreno. Lo dimostra la Spagna, dove per il caldo e la mancanza di acqua la produzione è precipitata. Quel sistema è distruttivo, del territorio, del paesaggio, del suolo…
Sono cadute nel vuoto due richieste che hanno fatto capolino nella protesta per essere subito messe a tacere. La richiesta di un giusto prezzo, o prezzo minimo, archiviata perché tocca i rapporti di potere con la grande distribuzione e l’intermediazione finanziaria. Ora è tutto squilibrato a favore della grande distribuzione e il cibo è trattato come una merce, una commodity. E la richiesta del principio di reciprocità: i prodotti importati devono rispettare gli stessi requisiti di quelli italiani. All’Ue chiederei di capovolgere la logica alla base dei finanziamenti pubblici all’agricoltura. Si dovrebbe integrare il reddito di chi pratica un’agricoltura virtuosa, vincolandoli al raggiungimento di alcuni obiettivi in termini di eliminazione dei pesticidi di sintesi e mantenimento della biodiversità».
Terreni a riposo e rotazioni = maggiore produttività
Un altro punto dibattuto riguarda la cancellazione dell’obbligo (per chi ha più di 10 ettari di seminativi) di lasciare a riposo il 4% dei terreni per accedere ai contributi comunitari, riposo previsto naturalmente da chi lavora in biologico. «Non è vero – sottolinea Marco Loconte, agricoltore nell’entroterra di Genova – che i terreni lasciati a riposo sono improduttivi, perché le rotazioni garantiscono una maggiore produttività dei terreni, permettono di mantenere il suolo in salute, rigenerandolo senza prodotti di sintesi. A differenza delle monocolture, avere un sistema agricolo variegato con prati e filari favorisce l’avifauna e l’entomofauna, e sono proprio gli uccelli e gli insetti i migliori antiparassitari».
Una ricerca scientifica indipendente, al servizio di chi produce cibo buono, pulito e giusto
Gianluca Colombo, viticoltore in Langa, ha le idee chiare su un aspetto spesso trascurato: la ricerca scientifica. «Le misure finora messe in campo riguardano principalmente le sovvenzioni economiche, ma sarebbe più opportuno dare vantaggi competitivi alle aziende sostenibili. Occorre investire su una ricerca indipendente, per trovare soluzioni che rendano l’agricoltura rispettosa del suolo più competitiva in termini di costi di produzione. Non possiamo lasciare la ricerca in mano alle multinazionali».
Dobbiamo investire su un’agricoltura capace di far fronte alla crisi climatica, alla carenza di acqua, attenta al benessere animale che produca cibo buono, pulito e giusto.
Gestione foreste con blockchain e GIS. L’innovazione sta svelando i segreti a lungo custoditi delle foreste e consente di proteggerle in modi che non avremmo mai immaginato possibile.
Droni, satelliti e analisi dei big data raccolti stanno infatti facilitando il monitoraggio e la gestione dei boschi, la lotta agli incendi e la salvaguardia degli ecosistemi. Per questo al rapporto fra foreste e tecnologia è dedicata quest’anno la Giornata Internazionale delle Foreste, che come sempre si celebra in tutto il mondo il 21 marzo.
“L’innovazione tecnologica – spiega Giuseppe Bonanno, direttore di FSC Italia, l’organizzazione non governativa che da trent’anni promuove a livello globale la gestione forestale responsabile – sta diventando sempre più importante per proteggere l’ecosistema forestale e FSC in questo ambito sta investendo con progetti e strumenti: dallo sviluppo della tecnologia blockchain, alla mappatura in tempo reale dello stato dei boschi attraverso il Geographic Information System (GIS), fino all’uso di tecniche forensi per lo studio, la catalogazione e il riconoscimento dei legni nel mondo”.
La tecnologia blockchain per controlli sempre più precisi
Il sistema digitale blockchain, attraverso la creazione di un meccanismo di database avanzato che permette la condivisione trasparente di informazioni all’interno di una filiera produttiva, consente di tracciare in modo ancora più rigoroso i flussi di materia prima legnosa nelle filiere certificate. Garantisce infatti una registrazione sicura delle transazioni, che non possono essere modificate senza registrazione.
“Questo garantisce una robusta traccia per le attività di controllo. Per questo stiamo sviluppando una piattaforma sicura per gli operatori commerciali che hanno scelto il sistema FSC. A gennaio abbiamo avviato una versione ‘beta’ per alcune filiere pilota e per giugno di quest’anno è previsto il rilascio completo per tutti i titolari di licenza FSC, che potranno così contare su un supporto fondamentale per mettersi in linea con le richieste del Regolamento Europeo sulla Deforestazione, EUDR” aggiunge Bonanno.
La piattaforma, infatti, è progettata per convalidare la conformità commerciale dei materiali in tutte le catene di approvvigionamento certificate FSC: che si tratti di arredo, carta o prodotti tessili, ad esempio, il flusso di dati lungo tutta la catena di approvvigionamento FSC verrà gestito e reso disponibile senza possibilità di manomissioni, dalla foresta al prodotto, a maggior garanzia anche dei cittadini.
Foreste spaziali
Un secondo strumento che applica alla tutela e gestione forestale responsabile le tecnologie più innovative è il GIS (Geographic Information System): un’attività di mapping che consente a FSC di controllare lo stato delle foreste certificate praticamente in tempo reale, con un grado di trasparenza sempre maggiore.
FSC on the map è infatti una piattaforma geospaziale che raccoglie su base volontaria i dati dei confini dettagliati delle foreste certificate FSC. La nuova applicazione FSC GIS portal permette di accedere a dettagliate informazioni geospaziali, con dati aggiornati di derivazione satellitare: una tecnologia che ha le potenzialità di trasformare il modo in cui gestori forestali, organismi di certificazione e auditor, nonché ricercatori indipendenti e stakeholder valutano la condizione degli ecosistemi, l’aumento o la riduzione delle aree, nonché le loro mutazioni nel tempo. Un progetto sul quale FSC International sta lavorando anche in collaborazione con Esri, realtà leader nel mercato globale nel GIS, con l’obiettivo di ottenere una mappa completa delle aree forestali certificate FSC in tutto il mondo: un accordo da 1,8 milioni di dollari.
World Forest ID, la “libreria” digitale delle specie arboree geolocalizzate
FSC fa parte, infine, del consorzio internazionale World Forest ID, che sta sviluppando l’uso di tecniche forensi per lo studio, la catalogazione e il riconoscimento dei legni del mondo, utilizzando campioni georeferenziati: attraverso questa “libreria” vegetale opensource sarà presto possibile (attraverso codici a barre univoci) confermare o contestare le dichiarazioni sulle specie arboree e la provenienza dei prodotti forestali, per combattere meglio le frodi, il taglio illegale e la deforestazione. Fanno parte della rete anche l’Università del Tennessee (Usa), World Resources Institute e i Royal Botanic Gardens di Kew, Londra.
Il Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) è un’organizzazione non governativa e no-profit che promuove la gestione responsabile di foreste e piantagioni. Include tra i suoi 1.200 soci internazionali gruppi ambientalisti e sociali, comunità indigene, proprietari forestali, industrie che lavorano e commercializzano prodotti forestali, gruppi della grande distribuzione organizzata, ricercatori e tecnici.
Il marchio FSC identifica i prodotti contenenti legno proveniente da foreste gestite in maniera corretta e responsabile, secondo rigorosi criteri ambientali, sociali ed economici: la foresta di origine viene infatti controllata e valutata in maniera indipendente in conformità a questi criteri, stabiliti ed approvati dal Forest Stewardship Council International tramite la partecipazione e il consenso di tutte le parti interessate.
FSC Italia nasce nel 2001 come associazione no-profit, in armonia con gli obiettivi di FSC International. Il marchio ha assunto un ruolo di primo piano nel mercato dei prodotti forestali quali legno, carta e prodotti non legnosi (come ad esempio il sughero), collocando il nostro Paese al secondo posto nella classifica internazionale e al primo in quello europeo per quel che riguarda le certificazioni di filiere (Catena di Custodia).
Allarme greenwashing per investitori. Il 94% non si fida dei Bilanci di Sostenibilità. È quanto emerge dal rapporto Global Investor Survey stilato da PwC che indaga i possibili impatti su fiducia e reputazione del business aziendale di una comunicazione poco trasparente rispetto ai criteri e alle attività svolte in ambito ESG.
Ciò, come riportato dal The New York Times, allontana gli investimenti nei fondi sostenibili che negli USA, nel corso del 2023, hanno subito una contrazione record di 13 miliardi di dollari (-5 miliardi di dollari solo nell’ultimo trimestre).
“Il bilancio di sostenibilità è un processo che afferma i valori di un’azienda, il modo in cui gestisce e ritiene importanti i criteri ESG e comunica i reali impegni in tema di sostenibilità” dichiara Ada Rosa Balzan, founder, presidente e CEO di ARB S.B.P.A., società benefit per azioni leader nella creazione di progetti ad alto valore scientifico che ha stilato un decalogo con alcuni consigli pratici per la stesura di report di sostenibilità veritieri per non incorrere nel rischio greenwashing.
La scarsa trasparenza da parte delle aziende nella redazione dei bilanci e dei report di sostenibilità mette in fuga gli investitori dagli investimenti nei fondi ESG. Il 94% degli investitori infatti, secondo quanto svelato dal rapporto Global Investor Survey di PwC, non si fida dei rapporti di sostenibilità redatti dalle aziende e la stragrande maggioranza sospetta che questi ultimi siano a rischio greenwashing, contenendo informazioni non veritiere e non supportate da prove concrete circa il reale impegno delle organizzazioni sulle tematiche ESG.
Più di 3 investitori su 4 (76%) desiderano, infatti, poter avere una migliore rendicontazione dei costi reali sostenuti dalle aziende per rispettare gli impegni di sostenibilità prima di valutare un investimento. I bilanci di sostenibilità mascherati dietro al greenwashing mettono a serio rischio la fiducia e la reputazione di un’organizzazione e ciò ha dei riflessi diretti nel mondo finanziario e degli investitori: come riportato anche dal The New York Times il 2023, sul mercato americano, è stato l’anno peggiore per gli investimenti nei fondi sostenibili con un calo di ben 13 miliardi di dollari, di cui quasi la metà (5 miliardi di dollari) registrati solo nel corso dell’ultimo trimestre dell’anno.
Per il secondo trimestre consecutivo nella storia recente, le chiusure di fondi ESG sostenibili (16) hanno superato negli USA i lanci e le nuove aperture (7). Non va molto meglio sul mercato europeo dove, nel quarto trimestre 2023, gli investimenti nei fondi di finanza sostenibile (SFDR) hanno fatto registrare una contrazione pari a 2 miliardi di euro, secondo quanto sottolineato dal report ESMA TRV Risk Monitor, pubblicato a gennaio 2024. Nel 2023, sul mercato europeo, è calata inoltre anche l’emissione delle obbligazioni societarie legate alla sostenibilità (-41%).
La crescente diffidenza degli analisti nei confronti delle attività di reporting aziendale della sostenibilità ha portato a richiedere maggiore chiarezza e coerenza, con l’aspettativa che l’applicazione di regolamenti e standard internazionali più severi per la reportistica in ambito ESG possano avere un ruolo sempre più importante. Il bilancio di sostenibilità, infatti, è un documento che rendiconta gli impatti economici, sociali e ambientali generati dall’azienda nei confronti di stakeholder e shareholder.
“Il reporting aziendale deve continuare a evolversi in modo da fornire informazioni affidabili, coerenti e comparabili su cui investitori e altri stakeholder possano fare affidamento – spiega Ada Rosa Balzan – Gli investitori, infatti, pongono sempre più spesso delle domande specifiche e mirate su come le aziende affrontano questi temi nella loro strategia di business, su come valutano i rischi e le opportunità e su ciò che è veramente rilevante per loro. Lo sviluppo e la stesura di un bilancio di sostenibilità non è, infatti, una mera rendicontazione d’indicatori ma è un processo che afferma, in primis, i valori dell’azienda, la sua governance e comunica in modo trasparente ciò che sta facendo, concretamente, in ambito ESG. Avere un bilancio di sostenibilità redatto secondo i più elevati standard scientifici internazionali e nel pieno rispetto dei criteri ESG e dei 17 principi delle Nazioni Unite contenuti nell’Agenda 2030 (SDGs) aiuta anche a migliorare la reputazione aziendale, favorendo l’attrazione dei giovani talenti”.
L’impegno delle aziende in ambito ESG sta diventando sempre più centrale e dirimente tanto che questi rigidi criteri di rendicontazione fanno quasi paura ai manager: come riportato infatti dal The Wall Street Journal sono sempre di più i dirigenti d’azienda che utilizzano termini come “business responsabile” in alternativa al termine ESG per descrivere le principali iniziative aziendali nel campo della sostenibilità.
Quali sono le principali avvertenze e consigli pratici ai quali un’organizzazione, di ogni settore, ordine e dimensione, dovrà prestare attenzione nella fase di redazione e stesura di un bilancio di sostenibilità, evitando così il rischio di incorrere nel greenwashing?
Ce lo spiegano gli esperti di ARB S.B.P.A, società leader nella consulenza ESG basata su riferimenti scientifici riconosciuti e metodologie oggettive.
Ecco il decalogo con i 10 consigli degli esperti di ARB S.B.P.A. per la redazione di un bilancio di sostenibilità aziendale veritiero e credibile:
1. Mappatura rischi e opportunità: prima di redigere un bilancio di sostenibilità occorre eseguire un check up serio e professionale e una mappatura dettagliata circa il perimetro, i possibili rischi e i focus chiave del report.
2. Il potere dei dati: per dare valore al bilancio di sostenibilità aziendale occorre sempre impiegare dei dati basati su un approccio scientifico di evidenza, misurabili con riferimenti e strumenti oggettivi riconosciuti.
3. No a fretta e improvvisazione: la stesura di un bilancio di sostenibilità richiede dai 4 ai 6 mesi come tempistiche minime e non si può affrontarla quindi con superficialità o peggio ancora con la fretta di dover consegnare il documento.
4. Omissioni vietate: in un bilancio di sostenibilità non bisogna mai omettere eventuali obiettivi fissati l’anno precedente ma non raggiunti. Essendo un documento pubblico l’opinione pubblica e i competitor chiederanno il perché della dimenticanza, con effetti diretti sulla reputazione aziendale.
5. Stakeholder on board: è essenziale il coinvolgimento degli stakeholder sulle tematiche chiave, ingaggiandoli con modalità diversificate e non standardizzate. La qualità dell’ascolto, infatti, non si può ridurre solo ad un questionario inviato in modo asettico, uguale e standardizzato per tutti.
6. Infografiche in aiuto: scegliere le immagini giuste da inserire come accompagnamento ad un report di sostenibilità non significa selezionare le immagini più belle, come ad esempio quelle del sito aziendale, ma quelle che supportano e rendono immediata per tutti la lettura dei dati tecnici.
7. Più di una presentazione aziendale: il bilancio di sostenibilità non è una presentazione aziendale più estesa, è un vero e proprio strumento di gestione organizzativa ed economica, che evidenzia rischi e potenzialità dell’impresa oltre che un potente strumento di marketing.
8. Rispetto della regolamentazione europea: la nuova direttiva “CSRD” che ha rivisto il tema della redazione dei bilanci di sostenibilità comporta ancora più impegno, trasparenza e principi più dettagliati e strutturati nella stesura.
9. Il mercato batte l’obbligo di legge: sempre più spesso è il mercato che sollecita la presentazione del bilancio di sostenibilità per l’accesso ad un bando o per il rinnovo di un contratto, sebbene non vi sia obbligo di legge per tutte le aziende.
10. Learning by doing: Il bilancio di sostenibilità è un lavoro di gruppo, un percorso di sviluppo della cultura aziendale che, spesso, nelle aziende di medie e grandi dimensioni porta all’istituzione di un comitato di sostenibilità che supporta il CDA nelle scelte strategiche aziendali.
